Flag Iris Watercolor Painting- Step by Step

1. The pencil drawing. I draw lighting directly on the paper. For this painting, I then used masking fluid to mask the white and yellow areas in the petals.

2. I used sap green, yellow green, blues and purples to create the background. I tried to place the colors in the same location as they were in the reference photo, but I didn't add any details.
3. I used several shades of purples, reds and blues in the leaves. I didn't remove the masking until the leaves were completely done.
3. All done :)
